If you have not yet heard of Connor McDavid, start getting used to the name. The 15-year old Canadian hockey player is attracting big time attention while the NHL remains locked-out.
McDavid is currently playing for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League and is already amongst the league’s top scorers. He’s also about two years younger than everyone he plays with, making his accomplishments that much more impressive. He is only the third 15-year old player to ever be allowed to join the OHL.
McDavis has scored 17 goals and 37 points in just 32 games. He’s 10 points ahead of the rest of the first-year players in the league.
The official terms of the Reebok deal have not yet been announced, but the agreement will make McDavid the youngest spokesperson the Reebok brand has ever had. You can probably expect the deal will be similar to that of Sidney Crosby‘s deal when he was 17. We never got he details of Crosby’s first Reebok deal except that it was a five-year “multimillion dollar endorsement deal.”
If the terms of the deal for Connor McDavid are similar then the deal could be worth a couple million dollars over the next few years.
