The injury bug has not been kind to the UFC in 2012. Already Dana White had to cancel its first UFC event in 11 years due to Dan Henderson’s injury. UFC 152 was also threatened until Vitor Belfort stepped up to take on Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar in the main event. The residual affects of both UFC 151 and 152, has transferred over to UFC 153.
To start, the Vitor Belfort vs Alan Belcher match was not only removed due to Vitor’s involvement in UFC 152 for the title, but also because of Alan Belcher’s Spinal fracture. Furthermore the José Aldo vs Frankie Edgar match that salvaged UFC 153 was pulled on September 11th due to a foot injury suffered by José Aldo. On top of all this, the Quinton Jackson vs Glover Teixeira was cancelled due to an injury suffered by Quinton Jackson; needless with all the injuries and changes, UFC 153 was on the brink of possibly being compromised, to the disapproval of Dana White;
Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!

It was just reported this hour via Twitter that the new main event for UFC 153 will now be Anderson Silva vs Stephen Bonnar. Though Anderson Silva has stated publicly that he would only accept big name fights, he took this fight in order to save UFC 153 which is set to take place in Rio De Janeiro Brazil. For this fight, Anderson Silva will fight at 205 where he hold a record of 2 – 0 in this division. The expectation is a one-sided exhibition by Anderson Silva, similar to the one he displayed again Forrest Griffin back in August 2009. No matter the result of this fight, what is important is the fact that UFC 153 has been trending wildly on Twitter. The hope for Dana White is that neither Anderson Silva or Stephan Bonnar suffer and injuries before October 13th.

Just read on Bonnar's Wikipedia: "Stephan Bonnar is expected to physically destroy Anderson Silva at UFC 153 in Rio, Brazil."
