FOOTBALL — 07 January 2013

Just a week after firing head coach Chan Gailey, the Buffalo Bills have hired a new head coach.

The Bills officially made the announcement Monday that Doug Marrone would be filling Gailey’s shoes. Marrone has been the coach of Syracuse University  for the past four years.

Marrone calls the promotion a “dream come true.”

This is not his first time being involved with an NFL team; from 2006-2008 he worked as an offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints.

In Syracuse he improved the offense each season, going from an avberage of 21.2 points per game all the way to an average 30.0 points per game in 2012.
