TENNIS — 21 January 2013

Canada’s Milos Raonic was eliminated on Monday from the Australian Open tournament in his fourth round match against #2 in the world ranked Roger Federer.

Raonic revealed following the match that he was suffering from an injury to his left foot. He revealed that he went for an MRI and was waiting to know if he would get the green light to play until moments prior to the match beginning.

Raonic said:

It wasn’t as smooth of a day as I would have liked to have. Until probably 45 minutes to an hour before the match, I wasn’t even sure I’d play. I rushed over to get a quick MRI on my foot.”

He is not expected to be sidelined as a result of the foot injury, and is still expected to play in Canada’s Davis Cup against Spain next week.
