BASKETBALL — 16 January 2013

When it was first revealed that New York Knicks owner James Dolan had microphones installed in an effort to record the conversations of Carmelo Anthony the original headlines were that he was “spying” on Anthony.

In fact, Dolan had technicians at Madison Square Garden install microphones at either end of the court as a result of the recent trash-talking incident involving Boston Celtic‘s Kevin Garnett. The events to follow led to Anthony receiving a one day suspension.

I got an owner that looks out for me.”

That was Carmelo’s response to Dolan’s decision. Anthony has no problem with his owner taking his side and making a significant effort to prevent similar instances from occurring in the future.
