After achieving his goal and winning an NBA Championship with the Miami Heat in 2012, questions are already beginning to surface on the topic of where LeBron James will choose to play when his contract expires in July 2014.
Something in Miami will be forced to change, they won’t be able to afford to keep all three of their super stars. Miami has always been Dwayne Wade’s team, so it is more likely that he will be the one to stay out of all the superstars.
One rumor gaining speed is that LeBron James could return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. With Kyrie Irving to whom was mentored by James himself is friends with James. Irving won the 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year Award by the way.
LeBron James has been asked about whether or not he sees Cleveland in his future, he said:
I don’t know. I think it would be great. It would be fun to play in front of these fans again. I had a lot fun times in my seven years here. You can’t predict the future and hopefully I continue to stay healthy. I’m here as a Miami Heat player, and I’m happy where I am now, but I don’t rule that out in no sense.
And if I decide to come back, hopefully the fans will accept me.”
I think fans would quickly forgive him if he decided to return to Cleveland and play alongside Kyrie Irving. If he sees potential in the team I would certainly say Cleveland just may be his preference.
