That’s right folks, pack away another one of your Buffalo Bills, QB jerseys. Put your Manuel #3 deep in the back of your closets along with the Fitzpatrick’s, Edward’s, Losman’s and Johnson’s you have and go buy a brand new Kyle Orton #18. The former Dallas Cowboy who signed with the Bills for a hefty $11 million after “retiring” with the Cowboys this off-season, gets the nod in week 5’s match-up against the Detroit Lions. Head Coach, Doug Marrone wouldn’t commit to Orton for the rest of the season but said “(We) can’t keep going in the direction that we’re going”.
This maybe a little quick as EJ Manuel has only played 14 games after being drafted in the first round of the 2013 draft. The Bills QB hasn’t blown people away but definitely hasn’t earned the hook quite yet as he’s thrown for 2800 yards with 16 TD’s and 12 INT’s, posting a 6-8 record. Bills hopefuls were thrilled as the team started 2-0 but has since been 2-2, which maybe the number one reason for the quick move. Kyle Orton has proved to be one of the better back-up QB’s in the NFL and a capable gap starter as he’s thrown for 15000 yards with 83 TD’s and 59 INT’s through-out his career.
Hopefully Orton can kick start the offence back into the win column and give the fans of Buffalo something to cheer for.
