NBC recently announced that the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning will host the May 5th edition of “Saturday Night Live.” Rihanna is slotted to be the musical appearance for the evening.
Eli Manning will be the 5th quarterback to host the show. His brother Peyton was amongst the other four quarterbacks who have hosted SNL. Many believe that Eli is a little too quiet to host the show; we’ll just have to wait and see what the writers come up with for him. Keep in mind, Eli has done several commercials co-starring with Peyton and has even done a few Toyota commercials solo.

Peyton Manning had acted in school plays and starred in many commercials before he appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live‘ in March of 2007.
“Not much Broadway or acting experience,” Eli Manning commented when asked about his decision to appear on the show. “So this will be a new experience for me. I’m a little nervous about it, but excited also. It should be a lot of fun. It will take some work, but it should be something I’ll always remember.”
Eli Manning has revealed that SNL approached him to appear on the show “a few times.” Finally now “seemed like the right time.”
Definitely seems like the right time for him. Eli has two main reasons to feel like now is the right time:
#1 – His team just won Super Bowl XLVI.
#2 – He passed his older brother in Super Bowl Championships.
