BASEBALL — 07 November 2012

Imagine the perfect physical specimen, an athlete that is 6’1, 234 lbs with less than 15% body fat. A man that is so fast he can out run the defense and can turn a double into an inside-the-park home run; at the same time make the most incredible catches and finish it off by scaling a wall without any effort.

As an adult, I still marvel at all the athletic feats of the great Vincent “BO” Jackson, as I did when I was a young boy. The idea that “BO KNOWS” how to do everything right made complete sense then as it does now, over 20 years later.

The myth, the legend of Bo Jackson is the subject of today’s ESPN 30 for 30 and just like any piece from this marvelous series, this is one that everyone should watch. For anyone that never got to see Bo Jackson’s athletic feats, trust me when I say that you will be amazed what you will see. This was the man that put the The University of Auburn football program on the map with his athletic feats on the field and winning the Heisman Trophy in 1985. This was the man that hit 450 foot home-run effortlessly, and would outrun a routine grounder to 1st base. As one person put it, he had God-given talent that the rest of us couldn’t even begin to comprehend. In this lifetime you will see very few human beings that will come with these many athletics gifs as Bo Jackson displayed, and for those whom were too young to watch Bo Jackson, you will want to tune in and watch this piece on ESPN 30 for 30.
