Former Boston Bruins forward Stan Jonathan was charged with criminal negligence causing death following a weekend hunting accident which left a Hamilton, Ontario man dead.
Peter Kosid was shot and killed Sunday while out hunting on a friends property for deer. The incident occured on a Six Nations Reserve near Brantford, about an hour west of Toronto.
Kosid, who was wearing camouflage, was struck by a bullet from about 375 metres away.
The two hunters did not know each other nor were they aware the other was there.
Jonathan was released on bail Wednesday and is due back in court on December 14.
