MMA — 13 December 2012

Rumours are flying around the internet and nothing is official yet but after last weeks fight Rory MacDonald called out Carlos Condit for a rematch of the fight at UFC 115 in Vancouver. In the last fight Rory MacDonald was winning the fight, but in the final round Carlos Condit put on a fluery of punches and the referee stopped the fight with just  a few seconds left in the fight. Obviously this is a fight that has been lingering on Rory MacDonald’s mind, as the only blemish on his otherwise impressive record. Rory’s record is 5-1 in the UFC and 14-1 MMA.

Rory MacDonald is considered the next breed of talent and he put a beat down on BJ Penn last weekend solidifying himself as being ready for the next level of fighters. Carlos Condit is coming off a loss to current Champion Georges St. Pierre in November at the Bell Centre. Carlos is a competitor and was a true sportsman by accepting the fight vs Rory MacDonald in Montreal, essentially in Rory MacDonald s backyard, training in Montreal at Tri-Star Gym and with the Canadian Crowd behind his back. This will be a huge fight as both fighters have evolved so much since their last fight which was very entertaining.

Also to be rumoured on the card is a main event between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz who were originally slated to face each other at UFC 137 in Vegas. With GSP going down due to injury, Diaz ended up fighting and losing to Carlos Condit for the then interim belt. With GSP back and having unresolved business he will look to finish Nick Diaz. It will be interesting to see should Georges St. Pierre defeat Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in Montreal, will he stay at 170 to Fight Johnny Hendricks or vacate his title and move up to fight Anderson Silva in one last Super Fight?

Only time will tell but this will certainly be a solid card in Montreal! Get on the wait list for UFC 158 Montreal Tickets.
