Not one of Canada’s NHL teams made the cut for Rick Nash. On his list of “approved” destinations are Boston, Detroit, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and San Jose. Not even the team Nash grew up worshiping, the Toronto Maple Leafs, made the list.
Nash could become a very different player in his next stop. He could get better, or he could see a smaller role depending on where he chooses to play.
The Blues have prioritized adding a top defenseman this off-season. They failed to land one during free agency so trading may be their only option. The Columbus Blue Jackets GM Doug Armstrong has acknowledged being involved in recent trade discussions and they could be leading to a deal soon.
The Blues are said to be interested in Dallas captain Brenden Morrow who could become available seeing that the Stars have changed much over the past several weeks, signing free-agents Jaromir Jager and Ray Whitney and dealing Mike Riobeiro, whom Morrow played well with in the past.
