Alas we have the culprit of Texas Rangers’ Josh Hamilton‘s vision problems. An optometrist diagnosed him with ocular keratitis, drying of the cornea.
The vision issue forced Hamilton to leave a game last Tuesday night, initially believeing he had a sinus infection. Hamilton ended up missing the entire weekend series against the Seattle Mariners with blurred vision and balance issues.
Other players have the same issue as Hamilton including Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann in 2010 and New York Yankees’ Johnny Damon in 2009.
Hamilton expressed frustration in August with his inability to retire his chewing tobacco habit. Now it appears as though energy drinks may be the culprit.
