Minnesota Timberwolves two-time All-Star Kevin Love broke his right hand Wednesday during a morning working workout.
Love broke both the third and fourth metacarpals in his right shooting hand and is expected to be out for six to eight weeks. He will not be requiring surgery.
Regular season for the Timberwolves opens at home on November 2nd against the Sacramento Kings. Minnesota will likely have to undergo the first month of the season without him.
Kevin Love was just returning from the Olympics in hopes of leading his team to the playoffs this season.
Owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves Glen Taylor addressed reporters during the halftime of the WNBA finals game.
“I think all of our fans anticipated this season with great enthusiasm. We knew we were going to have to wait for Ricky, and now we have two guys to wait for,” Taylor said, “But again, I’m going to be positive about it and say we’ve got some young guys and let’s see them step up.”
Ricky Rubio is also out for at least six weeks as he is recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee.
