LeBron James has already achieved a few “youngest to” records within the NBA. He
became the youngest player to reach the 10,000 point mark, the youngest player to record a triple-double, and he’s about to add another big one to his list.
James is about to become the youngest player to score 20,000 career points. He needs only 18 points to hit 20,000 points. He will soon become the 38th player in NBA history to accomplish this milestone.
Assuming James does not leave the game with any injuries or that nothing out of the ordinary happens, he should accomplish this milestone Wednesday when the Miami Heat face the Golden State Warriors. Considering he’s scored at least 18 points in 74 out of his last 75 games, you can pretty much assume he’s got it in the bag tonight.
When asked about his upcoming milestone, and about becoming the youngest person to achieve this by nearly a year; James said:
You look at how many players have come through this league, the history of the game. That 20K mark is very limited. How many guys have done that? It’s very, very limited.
‘It’ll be big-time. I’m not going to shy away from that. I’m not a big stats guy as far as individual, but that’ll be pretty cool.”
