HOCKEY — 15 February 2015

It’s been a frustrating few months for Maple Leafs fans as the team has struggled since releasing Head Coach, Randy Carlyle. Yet, it seems Brendan Shanahan and the Maple Leafs organization have a plan after all. The Maple Leafs have acquired Olli JokinenBrendan Leipsic and a 1st round draft pick from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli.

The Maple Leafs don’t seem to have plans of holding onto Olli Jokinen as it’s believed the franchise plans to trade him in the short future. Olli Jokinen apparently isn’t too pleased after being traded from a team in Stanley Cup contention, to a team that is almost certainly removed from the Playoff picture. This is clearly the first of a number of moves the Maple Leafs are about to make in order to re-tool this struggling franchise. Look for the franchise to make a few more moves before the end of the trade deadline.
