History was made when Miguel Cabrera achieved what only 14 other players in the history of Major League Baseball have achieved before him, baseball’s Triple Crown. Miguel Cabrera is the first player in 45 years to accomplish the triple crown of baseball. Miguel led the entire Major League in three major batting categories; batting average, home runs, and RBIs. He becomes the first person since Hall of Fame player Carl Yastrzemski achieved this feat in 1967. In his game against the Royals he was 0-2; however he finished hitting four points higher than Angels rookie Mike Trout, thus giving him the rare MLB Triple Crown. With this accomplishment, Miguel Cabrera is certainly the front runner for MVP.
“Right now I feel most grateful,” Cabrera said. “It’s an unbelievable feeling.”
