BASKETBALL — 12 June 2012

LeBron James and Kevin Durant go head-to-head on the biggest stage in basketball, the NBA Finals, and it all begins Tuesday June 12th at 9:00pm ET.

With all eyes on who will be crowned the best player in the NBA, neither LeBron James nor Kevin Durant are acting concerned about receiving individual praise; they seeing winning a championship as a team accomplishment.

“Everybody is going to make the most out of the match-up of me versus LeBron, but it’s the Thunder versus the Heat,” Durant said. “One guy versus another guy, it’s not going to be a 1-on-1 match-up to win the series, it’s going to be all about the team.”

The favoured team in this Finals match-up is undeniably the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their big three are bigger and their supporting line-up is stronger than the Miami Heat‘s. Who would have thought the Heat would be an underdog? The Oklahoma City Thunder, on paper, look as though favour will be swinging in their direction.

The Heat are loved and hated amongst basketball fans everywhere. With the whole “The Decision” and the resulting attention James received the Miami Heat will be seen by many, and justifiably so, as a team of superstars who came together to win championships. The Oklahoma City Thunder on the other hand, are viewed as unselfish, young.

Here’s a little promo to get you excited about the series. Enjoy!
