Perhaps the reason for the popularity of College Football lies in its unpredictability. As on any given Sunday, on any given Saturday, any team is susceptible for a giant upset; no one is invulnerable to this fate. Today the victim was the No 13 ranked Wisconsin Badger, even with their Heisman Trophy finalist Running Back Montee Ball, they managed only 7 points against a determined and persistent Oregon State defense. As was noted near the conclusion of the game, coach Mike Riley is very familiar to upsetting top 25 ranked teams; thus far in his career he has 10 wins against top 25 teams, most notably his victory in 2008 against the USC Trojans who were ranked # 1 at the time. This win by Oregon State could mark the beginning of good things to come; for Wisconsin this loss could mean changes in the front office and could greatly affect their chances at a Bowl appearance in the New Year.
