Phoenix Suns forward Channing Frye will unfortunately be out indefinitely after a physical revealed he has an enlarged heart.

His enlarged heart was discovered by team cardiologist Dr. Tim Byrne during an echocardiogram. He discovered that Frye has developed a dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle, primarily affecting the left ventricle, causing it to become enlarged and not able to pump blood to the body with as much force as a healthy heart.

Channing Frye has been in Phoenix since 2009 following playing for Portland and New York during is seven year NBA career.

High school basketball player Wes Leonard died from an enlarged heart in 2011 at just 16 years old after making the game winning shot during a school game.
