Welcome to another edition of TAILGATE TALK: Can Aaron Rodgers lead the Packers to another Super Bowl? This is a VERY sore subject to cover two days after my Detroit Lions were eliminated from the Playoffs but the potential is definitely there. The Packers face the Dallas Cowboys this weekend in the divisional round of the Playoffs and are 8-0 in Lambeau and facing a defense that struggles against the pass. Aaron Rodgers has had an MVP type of season as hes completed 65.6% of his passes for 4,381 yards with 38 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions … 5 interceptions, that’s AMAZING!

Aaron Rodger Highlights

The only starting quarterback with almost as low of an interception number as Rodgers is Russell Wilson, who only threw 20 touchdowns on the season. Rodgers has 18 more touchdowns than Wilson. Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks however will be Rodgers biggest threat to getting to the Super Bowl. The Packers and the Seahawks played earlier in the season in which the Seahawks beat the Packers 16-36. Aaron Rodgers simply looked scared to throw the ball in the direction of Richard Sherman and the Packers struggled to move the ball successfully.

Now, Aaron Rodgers is a BAD man and is capable of lighting up any defense. He also has a pretty good team around him. Eddie Lacy has shown he has what it takes to be an every down back in the NFL as he rushed for 1,139 yards and 9 touchdowns this season. As always Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb are Rodgers security blankets in the passing game as combined caught for 2,800+ yards and 25 touchdowns. It often seems like these guys don’t even have designed plays as Rodgers often escapes the blitz and tosses it down field to one of those two receivers.

I hate to say it as a Lions fan because its absolute blasphemy but the Packers have a pretty solid shot at the Super Bowl. Whether they do or not, we’ll see but I wouldn’t bet my money against them.
