One of the best parts of NBA All-Star Weekend is Saturday night when some of the biggest moments in NBA history have been made in the heralded Slam Dunk Contest. The Slam Dunk Contest has brought some of the biggest names in the NBA to light, showing the world their unbelievable abilities and creating some of the brightest stars we’ve ever seen. This contest has seen names such as Dominique Wilkins, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, and Michael Jordan just to name a few. Some of my favourite NBA moments have come from watching the spectacle of witnessing these men leap through the air so effortlessly while driving the ball through the hoop in ways that I could only imagine.
While the excitement of the Slam Dunk Contest was running through me, I began watching old clips of some of the best dunks in the contests history. I began to wonder, if I had to rank the Top 5 Dunkers in NBA All-Star history, which athletes would make the cut. Without further ado, here are the Top 5 Dunkers in NBA All-Star history:
#5 – Dwight Howard – 2008
#4 – Kobe Bryant – 1997
#3 – Dominique Wilkins – 1985
#2 – Michael Jordan – 1988
#1 – Vince Carter – 2000
