BASEBALL — 16 December 2012

The Toronto Blue Jays have a trade in place to acquire National League Cy Young Pitcher R.A. Dickey from the New York Mets pending an extension. The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to part ways with Travis D’Arnaud,  John Buck, Noah Syndergaard and another prospect.

R. A. Dickey is a 38-year-old right-handed knuckle baller with one year $5 Million dollars left on his current contract. Dickey is expecting a two year extension in the range of $25 Million dollars. The New York Mets would also send catcher Josh Thole and a prospect to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Travis D’Arnaud is viewed as the Jays’ No. 1 prospect and Noah Syndergaard is ranked No. 3.

This deal is still pending but it is expected that it will be completed.
