BASEBALL — 12 June 2012

There has not been an exact reason provided at this time as to why Toronto Blue Jay‘s Vladimir Guerrero requested a release from the minor league contract he signed with the Jays on May 10th; but, the Toronto Blue Jays have granted him his request.Speculation is that Vladimir Guerrero  and his agent feel Guerrero is ready to play in the majors again. The Blue Jays were reportedly given an ultimatum; bring him up or release him.

The Toronto Blue Jays clearly choose the latter.

Guerrero reported to extended spring training in Florida, appeared in four games for the single-A Dunedin and batted .450 and four home runs and eight RBI’s during that time. After spring training he batted .303 in eight games with the triple-A Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League. He had two doubles, a triple and four RBIs.
