Toronto Blue Jays Ricky Romero had a career high seven walks and hit a batter during Toronto’s 5-4, 11 inning loss to the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday.
Ricky Romero has now walked 27 batters in his past 23 innings.
“I’ve never gone through this in my career ever. I’ve never walked seven guys, five guys in back-to-back-back outings. It’s really frustrating,” said Romero following the game. “I’m just trying to throw strikes and it’s not happening as easy as it always is for me.”
Ricky Romero took to Twitter following the game Wednesday night, where he pledged to turn things around, called out the haters and thanked his fans and family for their support. Here is what he tweeted:
