BASKETBALL — 27 April 2012

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has been rewarded for his first year with the team with a contract extension that will see him through the 2013-14 season.

He believes that the team is headed in the right direction, yet acknowledges there is work to be done. As far as team statistics go, Casey said, “Defensively we were off the charts. As far as what we accomplished offensively, we didn’t get there where we wanted to go.”

The Toronto Raptors finished up their season Thursday night against the New Jersey Nets with a 98-67 victory for the fans. Just one basket shy of free pizza for the crowd.

The Raptors ended the season 11th in the East with a 23-43 record.
