Tonight Montreal will get a little NBA action in loom of the NHL Lockout. The Bell Centre will play host to the Toronto Raptors, as they face the New York Knicks. The Toronto Raptors played the New York Knicks in a pre-season game in Montreal back in 2010. Seven Toronto Raptors to reached double digits the last time these two teams met as the Toronto Raptors walked away with a 108-103 victory over the New York Knicks. However that was a Toronto Raptors team back in 2010. The team only features a few players on the Roster from 2010 including current Raptors Jose Calderon, DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson and Andrea Bargnani.
Montreal will get a look at new Toronto Raptors Jonas Valanciunas (related: Jonas Valanciunas Massive Dunk) and Kyle Lowry in pre-season action. The Toronto Raptors are 3-1 in pre-season and look to continue to develop chemestry playing together. Hopefully tonight the Montreal Crowd and road trip for the Toronto Raptors will give these guys a chance to bond and mesh as a team. With that being said, lets hope it translates to chemistry on the court!
Canadians in Winnipeg will get a chance to see the Detroit Pistons take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in pre-season action at the MTS Centre on October 24th. Click this link if you are interested in purchasing tickets for the Detroit Pistons vs Minnesota Timberwolves Winnipeg Game. Winnipeg also hosted aToronto Raptors pre-season game against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2005.
Winnipeg and Montreal aren’t the only cities who have had a little NBA action as the NBA has also scheduled four pre-season games in Europe. The Dallas Mavericks will play games in Germany and Spain, and the Boston Celtics will play games in Turkey and Italy.
Those of you who are interested in tuning into this game, you can watch it on TSN2 at 7:00 PM ET (Depending on how long the player introductions take – take that David Stern!)
