“This is probably one of my all time lows as being president of the UFC,” said White. “For the first time in 11 years, we’re going to cancel an event. Dan Henderson has a partial tear in his MCL.”

“It will be Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida on Sept. 22 in Toronto on the UFC 152 Canada card,” Dana said.

This is the first card in UFC history that had to be scrapped. Apparently Chael Sonnen was willing to step in and fight in 8 days to fight Jon Jones for the title. Jon Jones refused the fight on short notice and Machida was apparently on route to Brazil and unable to compete in 8 days. With UFC 151 canceled Jon Jones will now fight Lyoto Machida in Toronto where he fought him last December. This is a huge boost to the Toronto card that badly needed help after Canadian Rory Macdonald had to remove himself from his fight vs BJ Penn due to a deep cut he received in training.

Dana White was furious on Thursday during his 2pm press conference at times throwing Jon Jones under the bus for not taking a fight vs Chael. Jon Jones is considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the sport not willing to take a fight vs a guy who normally fights at 185 lbs on short notice makes you question how great of a fighter he really is. Shouldn’t the best of the best be able to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere?

**UPDATE** Lyoto Machida turns down title fight because he doesn’t believe he has enough time to prepare to fight Jon Jones. Vitor Belfort will now step in as the replacement to fight Jones for the Light Heavyweight Championship in Toronto on September 22nd.
