FOOTBALL — 11 May 2012

Vince Young is set to join the Buffalo Bills where he will be a backup quarterback to push Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Young reportedly signed a one-year, $2 million contact, which includes the opportunity to make another $1 million in playing time bonuses.

His career in Tennessee came to an end last July when he was released by the Titans because of injury problems, emotional issues and disputes with coach Jeff Fisher. He signed with the Eagles and spent the year as backup to Michael Vick in Philadelphia.

While Vick was injured last season, Young went 1-2 as his fill-in.He completed 66 of 114 passes for 866 yards and four touchdowns, had nine interceptions and a career-low passer rating of 60.8. His poor numbers hurt his chances of finding a premium market for his services.

Vince Young could be used if Fitzpatrick, who fizzled down a little in the second half of last season, struggles in 2012.
