Less than seven minutes into the first period of the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning game Tuesday night, Flyers’ forward Zac Rinaldo accepted a fight challenge from Lightning’s enforcer B.J. Crombeen.
Some media outlets are questioning whether Rinaldo took a few cheap shots at the end of the fight. Rinaldo said that Crombeen was the one who initiated the fight.
In mixed martial arts they teach you to beat your opponent until he’s down or the referee stops you, otherwise you risk getting caught. In MMA you don’t stop fighting and walk away because you got a good shot in, you make sure your opponent isn’t going to come back after you. I think Rinaldo’s fighting instincts just kicked in and he was institutionally finishing the fight.
Rinaldo landed a big right hand that rocked Crombeen and then he continues to get in a few more shots in. Check it out and tell me what you think!
