In addition to Ronda Rousey becoming the first female fighter to sign with the UFC fight promotion, Miesha Tate also announced via Twitter that she too inked a deal with the UFC.

This leads us to the question of who will be fighting Ronda Rousey in her first-ever UFC fight? Miesha Tate makes the most sense for the UFC; their original fight generated possibly the most buzz a female MMA fight has ever created. The Strikeforce card they headlined averaged 431,000 viewers and 560,000 during their fight. These numbers look promising for their pay-per-view draw value.
Ronda Rousey defeated Misha Tate nine months ago to take the Bantamweight Championship belt from her. To see them square-off for the UFC belt is sure to be a huge draw for women’s MMA! Rousey defeated Tate by armbar, since the fight Tate rehabbed the resulting arm injury and coincidentally won her last fight against Julie Kedzie by an armbar of her own! I would expect to hear that these two will be the first-ever females to fight in the UFC organization.
