Toronto Raptors fans everywhere would openly embrace the addition of Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant joining the team.
Not saying it is ever going to happen, but if the situation was perfect and the stars were aligned, knowing the following about Kevin Durant certainly suggests he could someday be persuaded to venture up to the great white north to play for the only Canadian team in the league.
During an interview Thursday on the Dan Patrick Show, Kevin Durant said, “Believe it or not, I wanted to play for the Toronto Raptors, that was my favourite team.”
He admitted that a big reason he became a Toronto Raptors fan was because of the Raptors jersey and the fact they were a brand new team to the league.
I also remember being a child when the Raptors were introduced to the league and recall they did so much within the community to target children and get them involved and interested in the sport of basketball. It’s no shocker that the Raptors appealed to children even as far away as Washington DC.
They were a new team when I was growing up, so I wanted to be a part of that,”
Anther big reason Kevin Durant became a huge raptors fan was because of Vince Carter. He was a massive Carter fan growing up.

Maybe, just maybe if all of the Toronto Raptors fans out there dream it into fruition, Kevin Durant will someday come join his childhood favorite team. Hopefully he will have many many years left in the NBA, so you never know what could happen in the future.
If the Raptors ever do anything like what the Toronto Blue Jays did this past summer, acquiring some of the biggest names available and more than doubling their payroll; and the timing was right, maybe KD could be involved in a blockbuster trade to Toronto.
We can dream, right?
